One of the places I look forward to going is this island. What makes this a bit unique is that it is situated near Africa but is run by French Government!
So, what would I expect? FRENCH! I couldn't even say a word. Haha
Well, there's a free shuttle service from the ship to the cruise terminal. The wifi there is impressive I must say.
Anyway, going out the terminal would lead you to a free shuttle bus to the center of port reunion. I boarded one and went with the other crews to the the city center.
Port Reunion or known as Lé Port is a cute place. There are no skyscrapers but they have shops and restaurants which are worth seeing. The worse thing is that I never had a single of their currency - Euro and worst, even if I had, most of the shops were closed til 4 pm. That's how long their break was.
It didn't hinder me from exploring though. Haha
First stop is the first ever Catholic Church I've been to since I started my new career.
Then, just opposite it is the Tourist Information where I asked about the city center. Just few steps away was a bank where I tried if I can change my money but to my surprise, they do not accept over-the-counter foreign exchange!
So, I just strolled around and took pictures. I would have loved to eat but I could not!
That was basically it. I feel safe in this country. It is not crowded and it is sooo peaceful. Well, for Port Reunion.
