Ribpublic

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood at the back of Coco Mall is a small yet cozy restaurant named Ribpublic.

It is not airconditioned but the interiors would make up for it. Haha

I think the diner's name pretty much suggests its bestseller. RIBS. Oh gosh. I just don't know why it feels so good when I hear this four-letter word. Haha

My friend and I only ordered 1 serving because as we observed, the size was kinda big for one person.

The meat was tender and its taste reminds me of Cafe Antonio in Dumaguete City.

Well, I could really say this is one true hole-in-the-wall worth to be discovered. They don't just sell ribs either. See their menu!

Duz Grill

Though very busy for an urgent matter, my officemates tempted me to dine out.  And the very easy-going me did not turn them down. We just found ourselves in the taxi, exiting IT park and passing by Apas Lahug for the very first time. Turning to 4th street in San Antonio Village and stopped by outside this big blue gate.

that blue gate!

So, what are we doing here in a drizzling evening? Well, we realized we wanted to try DUZ GRILL out.

Actually, a true hole-in-the-wall restaurant, there was not even a hint that this house, located in the farther end of 4th street, has something in it. No signage plus the gate is closed. We pressed the doorbell before somebody let us in.

Well a white house with a very wide lawn with very cozy and cute open cottages. Of course, we stayed in one of those.

cute!

Actually, the area is so wide, the cars are parked inside. A lady approached and handed us a menu. Of course, we wouldn’t want to miss their specialty and best-seller, RIBS! We had both original and spicy!

While waiting, we explored the “white house”. The ground floor was turned into a dining area. It was air-conditioned and there seemed to be a group celebrating in one of the private rooms.

Then there was the kitchen, a bar..

..and the chef himself who accommodated with a big smile when asked where the wash area was. Here he is, had to get this shot as remembrance. Haha.

Okay, then after a few minutes, our orders were served!

spicy ribs!
So, after having eaten ribs from various parts of the Philippines, my hopes were really high on this as the presentation was really appetizing already.

So how did I find it? Well, the serving was big, it was so tender.. I loved how mildly spicy it was.. and I just regret it now (while writing this) why I did not finish it as I was so full already. We even ordered extra rice.

Enjoyed it!!!
Wow. This place is so worth it. I wouldn't mind going back to try the other dishes! You might wanna plan ahead on what dish to eat..

I hope you'd enjoy as much as we did!

Blue Elephant

We planned to have lunch at Duz Grill in Lahug but due to uncontrollable circumstances, we changed our minds and headed to Blue Elephant of IT Park instead. But we'll sure go to Duz Grill some other time.

Blue Elephant is a Thai restaurant located in The Walk, IT Park. They do not just serve Thai dishes, they also serve some non-Thai foods such as cordon bleu, spicy pochero, ribs, fillet, etc. with bottomless rice (on specified times)! OR if you want something worth remembering for, try this.. :)

While waiting, I took some pics of the interiors. Well, elephant's all over! When we asked the waiter why the  restaurant is called such, he simply said it was franchised by Siam, another famous Thai restaurant also in Cebu. So, if you try to search the net, it does exist in various countries. But I'm not really sure if they're related. Haha.

Anyway, though expected to try their Thai dishes, I still ordered Spicy Pochero steak. And most of the others tried Ribs. But we had Tom Yang of course to at least feel we're in a Thai restaurant. Very yummy indeed. Haha.

Spicy Pochero Steak

Okay, so how was it? I was quite expecting a SPICY pochero. When the waiter told me that I can bear the spice, I never really thought it would mean a spice of only 10% ! I could not even say it's spicy at all.

The Ribs was okay. I haven't eaten much to compare it with other ribs I tried. But their serving was big.

My first time to drink Green Mango Frozen Iced Tea as well. Loved it!

Maybe the next time I'll be here, I would really try their Thai dishes to fully appreciate this restaurant. :)
