Amy's Lunchbox Cafe

This is a looong overdue post but I would share anyway. Haha

My former colleagues and I share a great love for food. Remember the Payday Habit section of this blog? They were my accomplices before. It was them who I shared most of my food trips way way back.

So, a mini-reunion was agreed and we thought of a place that we all have never been and later on decided to meet at Amy's Lunchbox Cafe.

could you read it? haha
This cafe is located behind Harolds Hotel. The place was previously Urban Kamalig. Anyway, there were a lot of customers but we managed to secure a spot, ordered our food and started THE talking. Haha.

just eat healthy
It's not really a big place actually but I love how it is designed, how it is lighted and everything seems to be organized. Did I tell you this is a healthy cafe? They offer food which are oil-less and yummy! At first, I thought we would be eating out of a "lunch box" but then the plates were served. Kinda disappointing but we ate anyway. Haha

So, what did we order? We ordered different dishes..

pasta!
lasagna!
squid!

The food was great. The pasta being oil-less, you may find it dry but it still tastes good. I super love the lasagna! The squid, it was too big for one person. Haha. I find it kinda salty but we still managed to finish it. Haha.

You know, nothing beats healthy meals...

                    and hearty conversations! :)

Brussels Bistro Cafe

You may have happened to notice a brightly-lit house along Gov. M. Cuenco St., in Banilad. But have you stopped by and checked what this was? Well, me and my friend just did. And we were in for some gastronomic adventure.

This previously called Green Home property now houses  some european treats. Brussels Bistro Cafe serves western cuisine from bread, to main courses, to desserts. And what made this more unique was a waffle cart parked immediately outside the restaurant where you can order and watch them actually make waffles!

While waiting for our orders, I did some exploration. The restaurant could house  a lot of people with its al fresco and airconditioned dining areas.

They do sell a lot of breads and sweets as well!

When our orders were served, we were so satisfied. It was my first ever time to try --- and I am craving for it at the moment. It was well-cooked, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented.

We were just a bit disappointed with the waffles because they interchanged our orders. I would have wanted my order hard but they served it soft. Except for this small glitch, I would highly recommend this cafe. It would be worth it.

Coffee Prince

If you're a Koreanovela addict, this cafe's name may really sound a bell.

Coffee Prince is a Korean-inspired coffee shop. A tv series with the same name makes it a lot more familiar, I guess.  The two-storey cafe has a lot of room not just for groups but also for people who might want to be on their own.

My friend and I entered this place just for desserts first but ended up buying coffee as well.

While waiting for our orders, let me tour you around the premises. Haha

In the second floor, there are double-deckers that can accommodate more groups.

We settled in the ground floor as we indulged ourselves with their mouth-watering blueberry cheesecake and coffee!

I have had the chance of being on the exact set of the Coffee Prince tv drama when I went to Korea. Though they are not the same, the Coffee Prince here would give you a glimpse of how it feels to be in Korea. :)

The Chillage

Along the strip of Cebu Doctor's University lies a very cool and artsy place named The Chillage.

Located at the ground floor of Adnama Building, I am happy I found this cafĂ©/store.

And I tell you, once you enter the place, every single angle seems to be picture-perfect!

The place displays a lot of stuff – from furnitures to shirts to accessories..

While I was busy taking the above pics, my colleagues started to order..

I heard this Taparoni is recommended much. So, I ordered one. I did not waste time while waiting for our orders. What the heck am I supposed to do in such a very artsy place with a cam in my hand?

And then the chips came..

tomato 'n tuna

chili cheese
I could still remember that appetizing taste of the tomato 'n tuna and that chili cheese. My God. The best appetizers so far..

Then, the sandwich came..

The Chorizo & Cream Pasta - unexpectedly yummy!

The Taparoni - tastes like a spaghetti for me..

We've had mango and blueberry cheesecakes for dessert. However, I thought it would last long on the table. Too bad, I only got this pic. They taste really good!

Before leaving, we just really need to have this shot. The place is just too nice to be taken for granted by a lady with a portable gadget.

I really believe this wouldn't be my last visit here. I'm planning to go back and experience this cafe at night and really feel how chill this place would be. :)
